A few questions from a learner

Thanks for the guidance, I would never have thought anything of it. I did think 37 gallons / 140 litres was a big fuel tank but didn't think it could have been an addition. I'll get some more photos and add them so you can see.

A few questions from a learner

Are you referring to the fact that it is so close to the engine?

A few questions from a learner

Thank you all for the replies :) With regards to the propeller, besides for opening up a can of worms :D due to my lack of knowledge around propellers and how they perform, I am simply wondering if a propeller with more blades would yield any different results in getting a skier or wakeboarder...

A few questions from a learner

Hi all, I have a Stingray 190RS with a 4.3 MerCruiser AlphaOne, which I had some minor issues a few months ago that this awesome community was able to help me with. She runs pretty good now, we even had her out yesterday with myself and my son wakeboarding for the first time ever behind her. My...

    Is my fuel pump dead?

Thank you all for your replies. I disconnected the wires from the switch, the terminals were covered in a blue kinda copper corrosion. Cleaned them up and she ran beautifully, my son and I both got up on skis behind the boat for four hours with no issues.

    My boat in saltwater

Hi all. I have seen this question asked before but it's normally with relation to deep sea fishing - mine is not. I have a Stingray 190RS with a Mercruiser 4.3 AlphaOne, I will add a photo or two. She has no leaks and runs well, doesn't overheat or anything. Our closest lake is an hour away but...

    Is my fuel pump dead?

Thank you for your reply. I will give this a try in a few hours. Am I putting the jumper wire across the two connections on the wire harness plug or on the switch itself?

    Is my fuel pump dead?

I did try opening the gas cap - no whoosh of air and didn't help keep it running. Thanks for your reply.

    Is my fuel pump dead?

Thank you so much for your reply. I am not 100% certain what year mine is, but I know that the boat is a 1999. Would you happen to have a photo of where I can find this oil pressure switch? And when you say 'jump the wires', do you mean connect the two wires to each other?

    Is my fuel pump dead?

Hi all, I have a 4.3 Mercruiser AlphaOne in my Stingray 190RS. We had it down at the lake today and had trouble with it. We got it off the trailer, rode it for about 5 minutes to the middle of the lake, then shut it off, had a bite to eat and then my son got his skis on. When he was ready, I...

    MerCruiser 4.3 Clutch/Neutral

Hi all, Boating newbie here - after a lot of research, I have noticed that there are a lot of boats which have a button on or around the throttle lever that can be held in in order to give the boat a bit of throttle without engaging it in forward/reverse gear, like a clutch in a car. My...

MerCruiser 4.3 Fuel Problem (I think)

I did a bit of digging and found that the fuel water separator had last been changed in 2013 and I also found a kinked hose. She seems to be running perfectly now.

MerCruiser 4.3 Fuel Problem (I think)

Hi all, just a disclaimer before I present my problem - I am a first time boat owner and not very mechanically minded. Two weeks ago, I purchased a Stingray 190RS bow rider which I would like to use for wakeboarding, skiing, tubing and just cruising the lakes here in New Zealand. When I went to...
