    This is a different pump than what in it now, and what was originally in it when he received it. We ordered this pump and it was too big. Looked right as far as design, just too big.

    The housing of the pump is to tall. As you can see by the pics the outlet portion of the housing is crushed, that's with the rubber insert inside of it.     Not much of a cover, did unblock a very small hole in the top of the midsection where the PH mounts. Didn't help. I have the PH off and ran a wire up through the block, from what I can see it's clear. Can blow air through it as well, just didn't try water.... was trying to be careful and get...

    Oil mixing was removed, that's what I was thinking about the lower unit. However I haven't had any experience with that style water distribution ( no tube) so there has to be ( or seems) some sort of " pull up by the bolts" to ensure the impeller housing seals up to the midsection.

    I want to say I'm at the end of my rope with this thing. Belongs to my Uncle, 00 35hp 3cyl. Johnson, remote controls. Originally bought engine from somewhere(Mich..??) On ebay. Was supposed to be freshwater engine. Mounted engine to boat, never used it. Ran it with mufs etc.. All seemed fine...
