Ok so I set the throttle forward a little bit and it started, it would start to die and I’d have to rev it a little to keep it going, why won’t it idle in neutral?
alright I tried everything y’all said, rebuilt carb, checked for bad gas, put new gas in it, and adjusted choke, tried to start it and it started instantly and sounded great… for about 10 seconds and then it sputtered out again and would not start again???? Any ideas now?
Saw it running during the end of winter, it was winterized, it did not go before 40 from the time that I had seen it run to the time that I got it into my garage.
Took it out for the first time this year to fire it up, I just purchased it and it’s my first boat, put muffs on it, made sure there was gas, and went to start it, the attachment below is what it was doing, any help would be awesome thanks.
Thank you for all the help guys, what had happened was the guy I bought it from must’ve had the trim limit switch taken apart at some point in time because he had broken the screw off that holds on the copper plate, I drilled out the screw and put a new one in and it works!! Thanks all
I opened up the trim limit switch and after watching a few videos on how to clean it I noticed I might be missing a screw in the middle of the copper part, is this correct?
