    update: just removed upper from lower and a pool of oil was sitting in there trapped? Kind of looks like oil is coming from upper where lower shaft goes into upper? I don’t know

    Hey guys slapped a take out upper drive replacement in and came back to it leaking gear oil from weep hole. You can also see the gasket by shift cable is all greased. Attaching video and pictures. Any ideas?

    ****. I watched a video of them filling up the drive from the top hole and once it comes out stop. Barely any metal that came out plus the magnetic plug. Here’s a video

    Fix: Boat needed to be turned on to get pump power steering running. Also replaced cable and lubed the hell out of tiller arm joints and steering is much better!

    How do I see if the steering shaft in the transom assembly moves? Manual by hand reaching in there? Also when I try to grab the drive from the outside and move it left and right as the steering wheel would turn it, I can not turn it at all.
