1998 Crownline 225 BR — Need help identifying original rear seat base/layout

From what I've been able to figure out, the white and green seat cushions are supposed to slide out and convert into a sun lounge. As you mentioned it was probably rotted and replaced. Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the original base? Even rough measurements (length, width, and...

1998 Crownline 225 BR — Need help identifying original rear seat base/layout

Hello everyone, I’m trying to figure out the original configuration of the rear seating. I recently acquired the boat and the previous owner had made a wooden box/bench support that appears to be homemade. I do not believe it is original. I’m trying to determine: What the factory rear seat base...

    Mercruiser Coil Wiring

If I understand correctly, I need to do the following: 1) Get rid of the yellow wire completely along with the ballast resistor 2) Get rid of the orange>red wire that goes to the starter solenoid. 3) Run the purple wire directly to the + side of my new coil. This will leave me with 2 purple...

I was able to find my engine Serial Number (F810329) Can anyone tell me the correct way to route the Purple wire? In the "Spliced wires" picture, the purple wire is spliced with the orange>red wire going to the starter solenoid. I will eliminate the yellow wire and ballast resistor that was...

I have a aftermarket electrical fuel pump. The blue wire goes from the + coil solenoid to what looks like a oil pressure switch on the side of the block. There is a block plate in place of the mechanical fuel pump.

    Mercruiser Coil Wiring

Ohh man your awesome. I agree with your assessment of the previous owner. You should have seen the nightmare starter situation I had to fix last year. I want to fix the wiring. In pic #3 labeled "Spliced Wires", the "red" wire with a butt connector has a splice with 2 leads. Red to the starter...

    Mercruiser Coil Wiring

I was boating and my 1996 Crownline 7.4 Mercruiser stalled. I tried starting and noticed spark at the top of the coil. I was coming out the side of the tower. It looks like the previous owner put an automotive coil on. So, not being a electical mechanic, I began trying to figure out what...

    Spark Plug

I have a 96 Mercruiser 7.4 on a Crownline 225br. I'm not sure what ignition I have. The serial number is F810329. Mercruiser shows the spark plug gap could be .35 or .40 depending on the ignition type. Can anyone tell me what my ignition type is and what the gap should be?

    Fuel Pump Wiring

Just to be sure, I installed the 2 wire switch from a T at the oil pressure switch. On one side of the 2 wires switch - I run to the Purple ignition wire? On the other side of the 2 wire switch - I run wire to the small stud on starter solenoid then to the fuel pump? Or should I make a T and...

    Fuel Pump Wiring

Hello. I'm in process of trying to get this new to me boat running safely. My question has to do with proper wiring of the fuel pump. I have a 1996 Crownline 225br with a 454 Mercruiser. (serial # F810329) I replaced the electric Edelbrock fuel pump 2 times. The previous owner had wired it...
