    This brings to mind a related subject, my boat is outside in a storage lot, covered. Do the solar chargers like harbor freight sells that clamp to the battery terminals cause batteries to lose water? It keeps mine charged and ready to go, plenty of sun in St. Pete. it just lays on top of the cover.

    be sure and check for a vac leak around the carb base. there are several style base gaskets, some don't seal good. A spray bottle filled with water is good to test with.

    I had to drag it out of the water without trimming it up. What affect will this have on driving the boat. In your opinion Is it it bad enough to have to get it replaced. The wire came off the starter fuse at the starter.

    FYI, 10 Micron is about the size of a red blood cell. Do you really need that fine?

    On mine, the studs were on the ends and made it easier to mount to the motor. Mine was 2004.

    To me is sounds like you have trash in the idle jet. Even new carbs can have trash in them, it makes it idle too lean.
