I know this sounds stupid, but a classic cause of no spark on one cylinder is a bad ground to the ignition coil. Happened to me last week, and I still fell for it once again. Switched leads from #1 to #2 ignition coil on the switchbox and ran other tests. But in the end, BAD GROUND!<br /><br />-Andy

Also, while your at it do your friend a favor and get rid of the oil injection. They are notorious for failure. Settle with a 50:1 premix.

May not be the cheapest but I bought 2 CDI switchboxes from seilermarine.com. Fast shipping and included in the price.<br /><br />Dave..

Should be located on the mounting bracket, on the starboard side of the engine.<br /><br />-andy

The serial number should be between<br />0B239242 and 0B396036

If you can't find the S/N on the transom bracket there is also one on the block. It is a round plug about 1" diameter with the S/N stamped on it. Mine is located starboard side just in behind the starter.
