Re: '00 225 Fichts submerged
hello
having delt with this a few years back I will tell you its a nigntmare. make sure all the oil tank and lines are thoughroughly purged of water. on the pair I recovered the power distribution panals and the TPS's died outright. all the other connectors were taken apart, not just unplugged, cleaned dried and had a coating of dielectric grease applied.after the motors were made to run stripped all the stators and electrical components for further cleaning. was a nightmare.
took almost 35 hours. but when it was all done it lived. I have not seen the boat in a few months now so I cant tell if they still live. also when I was done we fixed 4 leaking plastic thru-hulls and rewired the battery switch so when in the off position the pumps auto switches and high bilge water alarms worked. brand new boat, 14 plastic thru hulls and 4 leaked like a sieve. 12 of the thru-hulls exited below the water line. was less than impressed with the factory rigging methods. but you may wish to send your components out for testing and repair. there are some salvage yards in florida and alabama as well as someplace in new york.
good luck with it.
