I assume your model is NS9.8B. Of course getting a Factory service manual, Part # 003-21035-1 $44.17, would be good. They are available from and Nissan/Tohatsu dealer, including me. That carb has an integral fuel pump, so disassemble everything, right down to and including the jets and emulsion tube, as well as the fuel pump section. Then give all the non-rubber parts a 4-hour soak in real carb dip, such as Tyme, available at any auto parts house. Then blow out all passages with carb spray, and reassemble, paying particular attention to float height. If there is any distortion to the fuel inlet needle tip, consider installing a carb kit, Part # 369871221M $38.62

The service manual sounds like a smart investment! I need info from you about obtaining one as well as the carb kit and yes, you have the model # right. I will probably need to replace the fuel line and bulb as well as filter and hoses. I have a new tank I added this season. Thanks for the feed-back!
