Compared to several other Yamaha Vmax engines I've run, this latest one sure drinks the oil, and LOTS of it.
It's an 03 Vmax HPDI 250 2stroke. Only had it a couple of months now and it uses about the same amount of fuel as my 99 Vmax carb 150 motor. But, the 250 uses three times as much oil.
I don't know of anybody with a Yamaha 2stroke that has to fill thier oil tank every 40gal of fuel, but, sure enough....if I top everything off and use 40gal of gas, It'll take 2 gal of oil to fill the tank.
Anybody know how to cure this problem, or, if this is even a problem at all?
