03 yamaha & lowrance hds5

I just bought a 03 fishhawk 1750sc with a 03 yamaha 115 4 stroke. I also bought a new lowrance hds5 gps/sonar.
Has anyone had experience with hooking the ecm to the hds5. i can then look at a set of guages on the screen. I think I just need the correct cable.
Sounds like a cool idea but I don't have a clue as both the motor and lowrance are new to me?

Your '03 Yamaha is not NMEA2000 equipped. It will not network or display info like the new motors can.
