My '05 Optimax 150 warning horn goes off intermittently, its the continuous horn not the beep type. It's totally random, might happen 5 times one trip out, then not at all the next time. Seems to occur at 8-10 mph.....horn goes off and slows me down to a crawl........don't think it has ever happened at high speed though. Service manual says its a faulty throttle position sensor or TPS. So, bought a used one on Ebay , but, the same exact issue continues. Any suggestions ?

Check oil level sensor in boat reservoir and motor reservoir. Make sure you are not overheating.

I looked at the Optimax wiring diaghram in the service manual (online), but would need to blow it up to decipher it.

However, a lot of low oil alarms come from grounding the signal wire. I would expect the low oil sensor in the motor tank to be wired to the low oil sensor in the remote tank, They should signal a low oil condition, by connecting the orange wire to the light Blue wire.

damn, that scares me, was hoping this would be a simple fix ! but yah, same here..........i can go slow or fast without the alarm, its just that 8-10ish speed that does it ;-(

wouldn't low oil cause a 4 beep alarm every 2 minutes ?

I would think (think) that a low oil on the motor reservoir would slow the boat to a crawl, which is what was reported. Low oil in the boat reservoir would cause 4 beeps as would water in the fuel.

Clean the strainer screen in adapter plate, if clogged it will make compressor overheat and give a hot warning(solid tone) and reduce RPM thru Guardian mode...

hmmmm, will have to find this screen.............my engine continues to run great, EXCEPT at about 8-10mph ONLY, at which time i often get continuous warning horn....its fine going slower or faster.

mine was clogged pretty good, only took a 1/2 hr to do it. get some locktite pipe sealer or a high temp rtv gasket maker to put on the threads. hth
