0586323 coil specifications

Hello everyone !
Recently got an 1998 25hp 3 cylinder J25RMECA and i think I'm having spark issues
in the service manual says that the coil P/N 584826 primary resistance should be 0.28 +- 0.05 ohm and secondary resistance my meter should show 2300 +-300 ohm.
the engine came with P/N 056323 (since P/N 584826 was replaces P/N 056323) and each coil shows primary resistance at 0.9 ohm and secondary at 253 ohm.
Ive look everywhere for 0586323 coil specifications but can cant find it anywhere .
My question for you good people at Iiboats.net is should 056323 coil read same values as 584826 coil from my service manual? or what the 0586323 coil reading should be ?
Any help will be appreciated !!!

I'm sure your probably fine...have you tried other test like a spark gap measuring tool?

Has the vro been deleted on that model? If not it needs to be.

Thanks for the response about the coils and yes Ive remove the oil mixing chamber - it failed at the 1st ride .
Since then the engine runs fine with lots of power but it struggle to idle -it shakes a lot and look like is running on one cylinder with no deference if I'm applying throttle or not , only kill switch stops it lol. Spark tester shows uneven spark when engine is in the shaking stage .
Ive rebuilt the carbs and fuel pumps,vac and fuel lines cheeked for leaks.
Compression around 100 on each cylinder .
Any ideas?
Ps My worries are that i need new power pack

Get a spark GAP tester. Check spark for 3/8. If you still think it's spark, have you observed the timer plate while it's running? I'd pull the flywheel and examine all the components and linkages.

I'm back from the camp :)
All spark plugs have 3/8 gap
Engine runs / idle when cold but when warm up to opt temp wont idle and the shaking occur
It seams i have week spark on top and middle cylinder . When i pull of the wire from the spark plug on those 2 cylinders( one at the time lol) engine keeps running) but when the wire is off the bottom plug engine dies .(again engine runs fine over + - 800 rpm and up when worm .
I did try switching coils around witch didn't make any deference.
Spark plug tester shows that top and middle cylinder are getting spark randomly (is not consistent) when engine is shaking .
All linkages look and work good

and i have no idea is that acceptable.
Did the stator test: did pass all the ground test
power coil test - got 26 volts (manual says 100 volts ) ohms are good,
charge coil test - got around 156 volts (manual says 300 volts) ohms are in range good.
Is it possible that engine don't get enough justice from the stator ?
Also was told by my neighbor that friend had same engine and at some point had similar problem , after changing the power pack problem was gone ...
Help please !!!

I wonder if i should make another post about my engine ..maybe that would give me more response ?...

Post the actual compression values on this motor here.----How / where are the low speed mixture screws set?----Have you replaced the water pump impeller?----Tested for overheat and S.L.O.W. being activated?----Note----I own numerous of these 3 cylinder motors.

Hi there
Engine have equal 100 psi on 3 cylinders ( i was told this is low compression engine ) ,it dose not over heat and SLOW is no activated.
I've changed thermostat (pn#0436195) and didn't touch impeller yet since have strong pressure from telltale.
When i got bought the engine some one before me was playing with the carbs , was running to rich - lot of oil i the lake .
I end up rebuilding the carbs and i set the mixture to what my service manual is saying witch is 9mm .
I'm able to set the idle with the carbs to just over little 1000 rpm ,anything below this number it starts missing on top and middle cylinder witch i describe in my post above . Took the engine numerous times on the lake have lost of power and no issues when cursing in defend speed .
Idle like a charm when cold but when warms up it wont idle at the lowest throttle position .
