06 Suzuki 40 hp outboard tempeture warning buzzer

my 40 hp Suzuki pumps water like crazy but the temp warning light and buzzer keeps going off. Has new thermostat . Doesn't seem to be hot but once the warning comes on it will only run at idel speed. .???

yea, sometimes I have to hit the refresh button to see if it took or not.
I think Suzuki has a water level switch along with over temp switch.
might check to make sure they are functioning properly.

might even check the motor temp with a infared gun to see it it really is overheating.

if it is a water pump may be needed or cleaning out the water passages
