'07 175 leaning in water

My '07 175 leans a lil to the passenger side when in the water. It probably sits about 4 or 5 inches deeper on that side when at rest. The wake is not equal on both sides at speed because of it. I have heard this is because of the gas tank, which makes sense. I haven't had the boat long enough to run at low fuel to see if this corrects it.

As I wakeboard mainly, I was thinking of adding a sand bag or similar weight to the rear of the boat behind the battery box to try and even this out. The extra weight will be good for a fatter wake, and I won't miss the 2mph top end.

Anyone else have this problem, and how did you fix it? Any replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well , you are a prime candidate for a set of trim tabs. Either those or smart tabs. Unless they moved them in the last couple of years your fuel tank is positioned right in the middle of the boat. What side is your battery located?

Actually, the fuel tank is under the right (passenger side) rear seat. So, that has to do with the listing for sure. The battery is on the left side in the same spot. At some point in the fuel being sucked out they will be equal, but all that fuel weighs considerably more than a battery. So, I'm thinking a sand bag behind the battery box will about even it out.

As for the trim tabs... I don't think I am in need of them. I do have another post here for a hydrofoil though. I am thinking about putting one on. Can you check that post out and post there if you do, just save confusion in the topics if other ppl wanna check this one out. Thanks!

Thanks for clearing up the fuel tank issue - now I know. Also, take a good look at what you do have installed on the port side. Coolers, line, anchor, basically anything that wasn't there when you bought the boat.
Now the sand bag theory is sounding like a good idea. Good luck !!!

Yeah, any gear that has any weight is stored down the middle in the floor storage. I have a waketower and a rack, boards are on that but it's on the driver's side. So... a sand bag behind the battery box is probably the best bet. I have got some feedback on other forums for a second battery as well. Either way, weight is weight. Sand is free, batteries aren't unless you take them from the father-in-laws truck!

I have a 175. Trust me SX Smart tabs were the best money I've put into the boat yet. for 131 bucks they do wonders.
