1.5 hp Johnson 1R69C - gear oil?

Good day all. I have just completed an overhaul on this motor thanks in large part to a lot of you. Question now is the gear oil. Needs to be changed but I see only a drain plug but no vent hole. How is the gear oil changed in this motor?<br /><br />Thanks once again

Drain it out & turn it on its side,with the drain hole up & filling it slowly.Also change drain plug gasket.

Drain all the old lube out Shark. Then lay the motor on it's side and put lube in the hole till it won't take no more. Little weird but that's how it's done.....

awesome...been scratching my head over this one for a few days....the Solec manual didn't explain it that well. <br /><br /> thanks guys
