1.6 115 seadrive

I have a 1987 omc sea drive outboard . the wiring harness coupling burned some of the prongs out . Where can I find a new one at? atleast the plug both male and female.

if i am correct that motor used the harness with the big red plug. they are no longer available. you might buy a pig tail on ebay, and cut it in half, to get both ends.

Can't help with the wiring harness but I can tell you that the 87 1.6 L SeaDrives were rated at 110 hp not 115 - - not that it makes any difference. I have a pair of them and the OMC shop manual.

I have a pair of seadrive 110, 1.6 , 1986 model. I am going through mine and replacing things. My local OMC/Evinrude/Johnson tech. tells me that as long as you need parts for the engine, they are everywhere. Common evinrude v-4 design. Its when you drop to the bracket that things get crazy. Everyone tells me that parts for the bracket and hydraulics are nearly impossible to find. Fortunately for me, all that stuff is OK on mine. As for your wiring harness, I checked the price and my local shop had them for aprox 175.00 each. this is for harness from key switch to engine. Its a big red plug under the cowling. Of course they charge you for another if you need the other side. Good luck on your repair.
