I'm getting this motor soon,I was wondering if it will require a break in period, also, what can happen if not broken in correctly,Thanks. Paulpro knows boating like Bo knows baseball;)Motor has been sitting, can I expect any problems,I had this motor before, ran good everytime.I'm hoping to get the same satisfaction out of this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB2O4zsRbDM&feature=channel_video_title, youtube "boater 305 "I later got another one used,I notice the used one revs up as it runs out of gas,is that actually mean the motor will last longer?

Check the ownwers manual for break in instructions. if the motor has been run before i would think it is already broken in. as far as problems you should be fine if the carb was cleaned before storage, no fuel left in the bowl. good luck on your motor, if you have problems come back here and we'll try to help.

That's a really nice little motor, as I've been running a similar one(3HP) for over 25 years. Break in for the first few hours, just don't run it wide open constantly, vary throttle, let it cool off some(it is air cooled). Perfect motor for a canoe, small jon boat, very shallow water, fishing, whatever, Super gas mileage! Maybe one gallon a day at wide open throttle! Good Luck!:)

Don't worry too much about folks comments on here, they're mostly just joking around with you, and are really kind-hearted and helpful guys. You're gonna love that little motor. When you turn the motor off after running it always remember to close that little petcock valve under the gas tank so gas don't run down and flood your motor. Also remember to open that vent screw on gas cap or motor will quit soon after you start it up. Motor is dead simple! :)Good Luck!

what size wash tub are you going to run that 1.75hp monster on PP, I would go with a #2 or maybe even a big beer cooler.

I already made a full report about negative comments

I'm going to baby this motor, run the gas out after every use,wax the engine cover,or apply armoral to it.I'm accepting this motor as a blessing, matches well with my sears jon boat ,and my sears vintage dual prop trolling motor which has a combined thrust of 32 lbs. Also has light and batt indicator.I'm glad you enjoyed this motor,I will treat it with the upmost respect,I now know were to go for help if I need it..

Nice little motor. I just picked up a 1hp model (smaller than your drink mixer, LOL) at a second hand store for 40 bucks. It doesn't look as good as yours, but it in good shape. I think you'll have fun with it.
