hmmmm i thought that's what it could have been if it wasn't the spark plug. ,No! after all it was the sparkplug:p"carb" P.S.I found an old splitfire sparkplug [/COLOR],its old from the 80's,it may of been a spare from my first 1.75,an SF 25E splitfire,I still may look for another

Stop kidding yourself P.P

happy boating and stay safe out there.

:( I need a screen for the petcock fuel bowl, where's Tom?I heard he knows alot about these "Tanaky" motors,:eek:Nasa systen failed,I only made it 2 1/2 miles from the landing,I went out with both 1.75's,one would'nt start back, and my baby which still has a white tank and pepcock died on way back, barely made it with trolling motor, should of taken my second batt,I have to do a cleaning on both motors now,I'll clean the plugs too.P.S. both motors ran great at first, sounded amazing running dualls,I made a vid to post once I download it,mission complete on running twinns. Both motors pushed my bow surprisingly high lol

,O yea, I should get the covers from the 1.2's to keep the Coast Guard off my tail,I need to get both motors runninig, its like my dream came true for half the day, then quickly became a nightmare,Motors ran for a good 30 min, shut off and started them once, then the second start up failed on one, then the other died at half throttle, kept hitting sea grass, could this of bogged down the motor flooding it,maybe fouled the plug,"it was" oily?any other rubber parts inside carb other than the gasket to fuel bowl?,I'm thinking of submerging it in paint thinner over night, also for tank, how should I clean hoses,my vid is payper view, but if you help me I'll send you a free copy of me running dual 1.75's it was awesome:p,I did a solo run in vid, plus a vid with my 200lb buddy, you got to see the wake I was leaving, and the sound omg, remember I drilled out the two existing holes for each motor on the exhaust, just a bit larger,I felt like I was on a drag boat:),Just my luck, they both broke down on the way back. This was the first trip ever were I don't make it back to the truck,I came up 2 1/2 miles short. We barely made it to a rocky look out point were there was a road, and "solid ground",from there I hiched a ride to the truck..Paul pro knows boating like Bo knows baseball:redface:

I guess I missed the fact you had bought a seconed outboard, must have been when I was in the hospital,

I took a look at my air filter/ water diflector on my TOB 3 and its just like the one I showed you on ebay, the filter material is ment to be oiled so by not oiling them the flow rate is real good

,,I'm glad your back, did you have the nurse rub your leg;)Last trip I got out there quick with both motors,on the way back it looks like the plugs got fouled up, I had no way to clean them at the time.I heard some use 5ouces per 2 gallons,I'm using 2.6 per gallon,I'm thinking of cutting down to 2.5,what do you think:confused:
Today I will look for a fine screen to put in my petcock bowl,I'll use a spring to keep the fuel screen "up top",I orderd some plugs, but I had found a lawnmower 4051 plug that works,I had to get a thicker washer though.I plan to run sea foam 1 ounce per gallon, I believe is whats intended,I have the mesh on the intake on my latest motor,I noticed its been used more, tank is yellow unlike my other 1.75:D,P.S,I had gas spill on the exhaust,I heard it go sssizzz, could this start a fire,I was filling both up and forgot I had already added gas in one and put more, had a good overflow of gas:redface:Sorry I never did see the picture of the intake ,I'll check previous post, should I change my oil,I'm using that cheap synthetic low smoke oil,"with the resevor up to for measuring"

Re: 1.75 gamefisher, what the heck does this do

Can't help much on the lock but maybe assembled wrong or a part missing?
LOL,I figured it out on the locking spring.I notice it engages as you turn the motor 180:D,There is a groove on the shaft which is angled up.Once the motor is down it will catch the pin every time you turn it 180,I guess it locks incase you are going in reverse it won't kick up . "something like that";)So it only serves a purpose in reverse

Re: 1.75 gamefisher, what the heck does this do

Just wondering, what grade gas you recommend, also which oil for mix works good.I found the "Tanaka perfect mix" online, but rather get something from the store than having to order always:redface:I'm using a homedepot synthetic brand,"low smoke".The tanaka oil actually says "no smoke":eek:Question, how come my other identical motor revs up as it runs out of gas,and why does it shut off earlier than the other one when I shut off the fuel valve?I'm gonna run 2 ounces of sea foam in a gallon and see how it goes;)

I must admit it looks pretty dang cool and fun PP, I'm sure it wouldn't take much to hook the engines stearing together...it would be safer.

On the big towboats the rudders controls (tillers) are called sticks and the lock in sync and unlock, it makes turning a 12 barge tow lots easer especially with the fact they have flanking rudders to boot. When your in the lock with them you notice they never kick the dang thing out of gear....its just setting there with the rudder opposing one another and the the back of the boat is just occilating ( saves the big clutch)....I have been tied up to them, once a deck hand and I were talking at the stern and the big ole tow boat was really wiggling, he radioed up to the caption and the cap mad some adjustment to the sticks and she calmed down.....so did I....LOL

Re: 1.75 gamefisher, what the heck does this do

Check ebay under "Tanaka"Thanks for your views, and have a great new year,I was fortunate enough to find one new in box.Carefull mine was sitting in new condition so long it was nearly seized, lol You can see by this pic how white the fuel tank is,this motor my be the cleanest 1.75 Iboats has ever seen, the things I do for you all,O jeez:facepalm:,here is the strange noise it was making after I freed the prop, enjoy, just cover your ears..
Let me know if you come across another 1.75 ,I'm looking to run triplets,I'm currently looking for a prop manufacturing comp,to make me bigger props,I know its not worth the money, but it may be the first time in history this has ever been done, plus I will go faster:DCurrently with both motors and stock props I am running nearly at max rpm, with me alone in the boat,my "solo run",sorry its only on payperview"P.S these motors plane me in my boat. I do nearly 10mph alone in an empty boat with my twins, and I made three vids of my solo run, each 1:30 long

Re: 1.75 gamefisher, what the heck does this do

Hey, regarding the spring under the motor your are questioning....
That is a reverse locking mechanism. The motor will not tilt when the handle / motor is rotated 180 degrees. i.e. for reverse operation

Enjoy!
