1 Trim Cylinder runs 50% than the other

I just replaced the starboard power trim cylinder and the port cylinder is about 8 years old. The old, port cylinder moved up and down fast before the installation of the new cylinder but after I put in the new one, it is always lagging behind in movement. I have done the purging of air according to manual.

MY guess is that the newly-installed cylinder is running better and smoother and it takes lesser pressure to move it . And when it is fully compressed or fully extended, the oil pressure builds up and now makes the old cylinder move faster. There's no more air to purge and no more bubbly oil in the reservoir.

What is your experience about changing one side only?

Thanks.

You are worrying about nothing. Pressure will move the one with the least amount of resistance first. That is how it works.
When you hook them together on the drive and try to lift or lower the drive, they then have equal pressure.
If they are not leaking externally or internally and aren't binding because of damaged components, then hook them up and go boating and stop worrying about non existent problems.
