You didn't really use that pump to suck up your gasoline did you? You are lucky you didn't have an explosion! I know you used it as a vacuum pump and weren't pumping liquid but that just doesn't look safe.

Why wouldn't you just buy new gasoline?

that was what the fan made sure of no explosion. A vacuum pump will create a vapor, so blow it away in the open air and you are fine.

perhaps I can also add some octane booster. Tanks are only 1/3 full right now. The engines run on 8 to 1 compression, they are not high compression motors.

Filling up was not too bad 10 years ago. I do have a boating friend willing to chip in so the price can be cut in half.

Gas or diesel it is all just too pricey. Economy is really hurting.

Personally, I would suggest not doing it that way. Buy an electric fuel pump and do it that way the next time you try it. Electric fuel pumps are pretty cheap. You don't need a marine one for what you are trying to accomplish here.

that sludgy stuff was kind thick and goopy and I dont think a pump would have picked it up.
the vacuum pump did a great and easy job it was too.
it had to pick up 4 feet out of the tank then another 3 feet up to the land.
