Did his first tune up on my Camry, plugs, cap, rotor and wires!
Course I helped loosen a few plugs :)
And 2 weeks ago learned how to and helped change flat tire, and learned how to find replacement parts for his Razor scooter out of my 3 tool boxes, and about installed all on his own!
I doubt he'll want to do it for a living, but at least I got him interested, and he loved learning all(well not before he actually did all).
:)

^^Agreed! I've saved tons and the knowledge my dad has given me mechanic wise and everything wise really is invaluable. Just did a break job on the Tahoe...glad I caught it in time as the pad was getting pretty low.

those of you that know of Branden, who was my helper, now business partner, will know this is how he got started.

after 6 months he is a far better "wrench" than me.

Ive found some people are just natural born mechanics or wrench turners, but some folks dont like to get their hands dirty!sounds like your son is the first type!its something i enjoy while saving money and I can thank my dad for sparking my own interest.sounds like time for a father/ son project or restoration build!!

Not to mention you can't beat a mechanic with small hands working on these cars today.:D

He actually started working on my boat with me when he was 3, and once he starts working with me, he does stay interested - especially when he tells his buddies what we worked on, they're usually dumb founded :)

Good for him. We need more people like that, willing to actually work. I started at an early age as well. Don't think you would ever find a greasyer kid than I was at 3. Good thing for hand cleaner and sprinklers.
