Great idea! We have the registration from the previous owner. What else do we need to do? I have never registered a trailer or boat before. I thought that if the weight of the trailer and the boat weighed less than 3,000lbs, then no worries.

You will need the titles for both the boat and trailer.

If you don't have them the previous owner should be able to go to the correct DMV or state agency and file for a new title for you.

Probably depends on what state you live in. Ownership generally relates to financial responsibility so 11 may be too young.

I read earlier where you were buying a battery to get it started.

If you haven't done so already, don't bother.

Just pull the battery out of your truck and use that. Once you know the engine runs, it probably won't run again for a while as you are doing the rest of the resto work.

As for parts and supplies, I would have Shay write letters to some of the suppliers outlining what he is doing and see if they are willing to donate some materials. I'm not talking a new engine here, but you might get some of the shops to donate some resin, some 1708 or CSM, gelcoat, carpet, pedestal seats, etc.

Never hurts and you might be surprised at what he gets.

He decided to stay with his mother this weekend since it was going to rain. He probably will not be back home until next weekend or sometime this coming week. I will tell him your idea and let you know his thoughts.
