First off, sorry I do not have a manual or parts book. If I do not trade or sell this boat by the first of the year I will keep it and get the manuals. That being said, I had a overheating problem on my 89 evinrude 110 bubble back. I believe it is E110TCEM. I pulled the lower end and it was filled with muck. The impellar looked new. I cleaned everything up and re-installed lower unit. No water out of tell tale. I pulled the lower unit off and hooked a hose directly to down tube and plenty of water. There is no seal or gasket between the water pump housing and down tube. I am thinking that the water is just blowing by down tube or around it. Does anyone know if there is a seal or something missing.

Re: 110 evinrude overheating.

Somebody can correct me; but my 89 110 did have a grommet in the water pump housing that the water tube slid into. Both my manuals for my 150 Jonson and my 15 Evinrude both show a grommet in the housing so I don't know why yours would be any different.

That makes sense to me. Just does not seem like there would be enough pressure without one. I think the water is mostly bypassing, I will try and find one. Just can't figure out where it went. Thanks for looking.
