I ran my motor today with the flushing adaptor and there was hot water coming out of the discharge vents right above the cavitation plate but nothing streaming out higher up. I'm not sure where the water is supposed to come out. Is it from the two square holes about mid-way up? Thanks!

A 1100 should have water coming out the telltale which plug up in the hose or in the exhaust water jackets, if yours is still hooked at the very bottom of the plate consider moving it as it usually can't be cleaned, most engines are tapped on the top of the block but some are tapped on the water jacket cover between the plugs just cut the hose and plug the engine end when remove the 1/8th pipe plug and replace it with a hose barb and new hose and run it to he telltale on the cowl

So there should be a plug that I can take out and put in a hose adaptor? Then I just push water through it from a garden hose and see if water comes out the tell tale? Is this with the motor running with or without the flushing adaptor? Or is the motor not supposed to be running? Thanks.

There is at lest 1 and maybe 2 holes into the engine water jacket the best 1 to use is the highests because it will prevent a steam dome from damageing the engine they are tapped to 1/8 pipe fittings and have a 7/16" hex head find the highest and remove the plug then start the engine( on a hose)to see if you have water pressure if you do hook the telltale up there and plug the old output. if you don't have water fix the pump
