Took the boat out week and half ago for the first time. Ran like a dog for about an hour then straightened out and ran strong. Noticed that the batteries weren't recharging so I replaced the Rectifier/regulator. Tried to start it to check voltages and can't get it to fire. I have spark and I have gas. I'm a little leery of the gas but it's the same I used a week and a half ago. I did put 5 gallons of High Test in just to make sure I wasn't empty - bulb gets firm. Brand New batteries. Engine rebuilt about 3 years ago. . .probably have less than 20 hours on it.
I had to remove the flywheel to get to the rectifier. . . It wasn't keyed so I figured the alignment wasn't critical. I did however mark the wheel and replaced it roughly to where it was. Is this a timing issue?
Any ideas or thoughts would be welcome.
Thanks
