I have an 79 115 evinrude that is immaculate with the exception of a bad cylinder. I bought another evinrude 115 that is a 1980 i beleive, it was in storage for a long time and the carbs are in bad shape. i thought I could switch carbs and be in business fast but apparently the older ones do not have any oil supply lines like the newer ones do. At least I think that's what they are. Are these supply line essential or just a minor design change? Can i bolt up the carbs, plug up the hoses and head to the races? Help is very much appreciated

there are no oil supply lines to a johnson or evinrude outboard.Only fuel supply. If you are talikn abot the little nipple at the top of the carb, this is a primer line to help it start, just make sure both are 1 and 5/16 venturi size/stamped on front of carb,, and yes. most carbs can be retrofitted, they are usually , enhanced versions

Ahh, thank you. I stitched the carbs out extended the choke wire to reach the old style and she fired right up. I didn't check the size. Will it run if the size is wrong? Thanks again.

it will run,, but the older 1 inch carbs will decrease horsepower,, the were used on 85- 90 hp
