115 hp 1969 Mercruiser?

I'm going to look at a 18' Holiday that is advertised as having a 115 hp Mercruiser. Assuming it's the original drivetrain is it really a 120 hp? Is the 120 hp Mercuiser bascailly the some one they used into the 1970's/80's? Meaning are most high wear parts available?

Either a 115 hp outboard mercury or possibly a 120 hp I/O mercruiser. I'll bet on the outboard.

The plot thickens. Oh hell just call and ask him if it's an I/O or an outboard. He's obviously confused.

For the record the 2.5 and 3.0 liter mercruisers are easy to obtqain parts for. 2.5 was 120 hp and the 3.0 is 140 hp, or there abouts.

I have a 1972 Mercury 1150 (115hp) hanging on the back of my SS. This is my first experience with outboards but seems to be a solid motor so far. That are notorious for have brittle wiring, but the harnesses are easy to come by. These motors sound good too but are thirsty for fuel!

It is a Mercruiser I/O. I have pictures. I was just wondering if there was an alternate (115 hp) I/O in 1969.

Volvo Penta Stern Drive 1968 - 1991 had a 115hp option As you have Photo's and you say it's a Mercruiser then it must be.....

Yes. The HP doesn't really matter. You just need to know that it's a 4 banger Mercruiser.
