hey this is kind of a different question but I bought a 115 hp merc. And trying to get it fixed up I always rebuilt my own motorbikes and cars but new to outboards, anyway I cant figure the carbs out they have no choke flaps on the inlet side and cant get any info on the net am I missing something? there is a little switch of sort with a finger adjust screw on top? It has two hoses that go to the top two carbs but nothing to the bottom, any help in the right direction would be great thanks alot. the motor is a 82 115 merc. inline 6

Look up "enrichner" in your manual. It takes the place of the choke flaps. It sounds like you have found it.

Re: 115 hp carb

I had a British Motorcycle with a "Tickler", instead of a choke. Anyone remember what that is?

Re: 115 hp carb

The Tickler on my '74 Triumph was a pushbutton on the carb bowl. It would push the float under and allow the carb to flood, to richen it up for cold starting. A side effect was that your hand always smelled of gasoline.....
