I have a worked 17 Pitch viper, tip cup added, and pitch corrected to a true 17, by myself i can turn to 47 mph and 6400, If I stay at 6000, I run 45-46, speeds are gps. still had a little more trim to go up a but rpms were getting too way to high. Found a Turbo Flats IV, on Ebay, 13 1/4 x 19, 4 blade, will I be able to turn this? Opinions? This is on a fish and ski. Will I lose too many rpms, 400 for 17 to 19 pitch, then 100-200 for foing from 3 blade to 4 blade. What will happen to my holeshot, going up 2 inches, but adding a 4th blade?

There were some packs with a 6700 rpm limiter. Or if it's a CDI pack (blue) it may not have a limiter. Anyway, as we were talking in your other post, check the tach setting to make sure it's set on position 6 not 4. From these numbers I'd guess it's probably set on 6. You're at under 10% slip which is very good. If you maintain the same slip ratio you should pick up a couple mph.

The Flats IV is a good prop. In theory you'll be able to raise the motor higher yet. I'd also keep an eye out for a 20" Raker or Turbo Lightning Jr.

Will the turbo be comprable in holeshot since it is 4 blades and has the vent holes? Do they need to be worked like the Viper to trim out without venting, Viper does not have vent holes? Asking becuase I do a bit of Skiing Auction ends in aobut 6 hours

Motor is mounted one hole from the lowest setting, don't know if I can raise it as rumor is fish and skis like the prop deep in the water. No jackplate. Although I did still have some trim left and it did feel like it would keep lifting if I kept trimming. With the turbo hold at High trim angles?

The Turbo 4 blade will bite pretty well. You should be able to run that 4 blade at a higher X dimension than a 3 blade, especially a Viper.

lost the auction, will have to keep looking. The Viper did not bite very good before it getting worked, They added tip cup and pitch corrected, added 2-3 mph and dropped the rpms a couple hundred. Was running 41-42 at 6000 and could at 6400-6500 43.5 was best.
