Hi,i have finaly got this 1984 115hp mariner dialed in perfect.Got the idle rpm spot on,runs like a dream. The only question i have is it seems to be leaking some fuel out of the throttle shafts thats links the carbs. Is there a seal or some kind of an o-ring where they go into the carbs?I havnt pulled them off as yet, just wondering.

No Oring...could be worn out like what happens to auto carbs when they leak...I have carbs if you need them from my friends dad that blew up his cherry 115 86" when he adjusted the max spark arm instead of the idle timing.. It ran like hell till it blew a hole in number one piston..have all parts if you need any...good luck Steve

Thanks mate, those carbs you have are a long way away from Aus.Has anyone else had problems with leaking throttle shafts or know of a fix?

The carbs are just aluminum. The brass throttle rods will wear it a bit. Leakage should not occur since there should not be fuel in the barrell, unless tilted or trimmed up. The brass rods are replaceable, however, you probably need to find junkyard or carbs, to obtain them.
I would first see if the floats are adjusted properly, as no leakage is normal.

The throttle rods look mainly plastic and fuel is definietly leaking out of them.Time to pull the carbs apart and have a look.
