115 Merc Shift Problems

I have a 86 Merc 115 on a 86 Glastron Carlson CVX-16. I just put a new starter and starter Solenoid in it. When i shift out of the neutral position into the forward it stalls out on me. Is this more than likely a carb problem where i need to rejet the carb. It came from Salt Lake area to 7000 Feet plus area. Also when I go at a slow almost troll speed it doesn't like to go back up to full power. Any thoughts would be great thx.

I have one that I just took off my boat - great engines!!

I believe your first step should be to look into what main jet and vent jet you have installed now and compare them to a chart that shows the right size for your elevation. Replace them if they are the wrong size.

Now what is your rpm at your lowest possible idle? Are you getting spark and fuel to each cyl? How about WOT?
