2017/18 115 Pro XS 4 stroke, serial #2B501861. It has a sticker on the lower that says 2.38:1, which would indicate that it is a Command Thrust lower. However, just about every other CT Pro XS I've seen in person and in photos has a silver lower, while this one is black and it doesn't appear to have been painted outside of the factory. Did some of the CT lowers come in black? If so, what's the difference, why are some black and some silver?

Also, the same sticker that says 2.38:1 also says 13x31. What is that?

Hi. The pro Xs 115 usually has a silver gearcase. But all ct 115’s have the 2.38 ratio. I have a normal 115 ct. black gearcase and 2.38 ratio. Maybe you have too, with a pro Xs hood. The other numbers are relative to the gear teeth, as far as I know. You’ll also be able to tell if it’s a ct by the prop that’s on it too. The difference between the Xs and normal engine is the pro has an extra 300 rpm or so at the top end.
