I'm working on a 1972 115 tower of power, and am wondering what the exact measurement is on the length of water tube? I see new ones are obsolete...where to find a good used one. thanks

For years now I've heard "TOWER OF POWER". Quite some years ago a friend of mine coined the Fraze
"THE FLYING STACK FROM FOND DU LAC". Always thought that was a good one.

thanks, Gerry. this one is definitely a long shaft. that price seems very reasonable. I best grab it whilst I have the chance.
the one I have in this customers motor, feels all dinged and deformed on the bottom end, and it seems to me like it's too short to even go into the impeller housing. I guess this is par for the course when working on other peoples basket cases that have been laying around for years

I was wondering if there's anything holding the water tube up into the motor? I know there is a retainer and screw up in there, but that shouldn't be holding that tight? I'm pulling on the tube, and it's just not budging. thanks; Greg

Yes, the water tube is simply 1/2" copper pipe. The problem is that it has a particular bend to it. As long as the bend is intact, you can replace a damaged section with a copper coupler, some solder and sweat it with a torch.
