Yeah I'm gonna try all the above. The carpet isn't marine grade either! And the wood looks water logged not to mention the previous owner painted it with probably 10coats of paint (sarcasm of course) I guess the first test will be to remove wood and go from there

Take all the added stuff out and see how it does then, if it still doesn't plane out it's either your motor or operator error.

... and that was my advice waaay back at post #9.

Glad you got'er goin good.

Was your plywood wet under the carpet? Wet wood is very heavy.

I greatly appreciate your help. The front deck (the bigger of the two) appeared water logged, but also I think the batteries are going bad they seemed a little heavier then usuall. I've been told that you shouldn't run your motor at full throttle? Someone told me when you get on plane to back out about 1/3rd to 2/3rd's? I always thought that's why 2strokes were famous because they can sustain for much longer times.

Sure you can run your motor at WOT as long as you like. I wouldn't do it all the time, every time, but I usually try to get in a few long (15-20 min.) WOT runs on each outing. However, I generally cruise around at about 80-90% throttle, which is enough to keep me on plane while still leaving a little in reserve. Just as importantly, I spend a lot of time in no wake/manatee zones were having the ability to troll slowly for long periods is often over looked. A properly tuned motor should be able to run at idle and/or WOT for long periods with no ill effects.

Good going on your boat/motor.
On a side note,if your batteries are going bad...they aren't going to get heavier.

I know it may sound crazy!! But when I was a teenager, I worked at a battery warehouse, and all I would do is stack new and bad batteries. And I can tell you bad batteries were always heaviest.

But maybe I had convinced myself that, maybe it was psychological ;)

I took my daughter to help with weight distribution lol she loved it! That was around 0500 I was shocked at how choppy the lake was although it was a bit windy
