12 Volt Battery Move

I have a 18' starcraft super sport. It has a 115hp mercury '02 outboart motor and a 8hp mercury kicker for fishing. I have a starting battery and another 12 volt battery to run the fish locator and auxillary plug in.
The weight in the back (with my fat rear added) causes water to come into the motor well through the drain out holes. For now I put plugs in the drain out holes to solve the problem.
I am thinking to move 1 battery to the bow of the boat, but am concerned about the wave pounding and the effect on the battery. Sure would like to have the thoughts of other boaters. Would this be a good move or something I will regret over the long haul?

i've had both batteries in the bow on a boat never had a problem. you have to upsize the cables to the engine. i think i size for every 10 feet.

Depends on how much pounding the battery is going to get because its life will definitely suffer unless you replace it with an AGM type battery.

I personally would only use it with one battery. Unless the 6 HP is electric. I run a 130 HP Yamaha, Fish Finder, Tach, Trim, Nav Lights, and deck lights all of a 650 Multi Purpose Battery.
