I have a 18' starcraft super sport. It has a 115hp mercury '02 outboart motor and a 8hp mercury kicker for fishing. I have a starting battery and another 12 volt battery to run the fish locator and auxillary plug in.
The weight in the back (with my fat rear added) causes water to come into the motor well through the drain out holes. For now I put plugs in the drain out holes to solve the problem.
I am thinking to move 1 battery to the bow of the boat, but am concerned about the wave pounding and the effect on the battery. Sure would like to have the thoughts of other boaters. Would this be a good move or something I will regret over the long haul?
