So when I have the motor tilted up it runs fine but when I lower it does not start I’m new to owning a boat it’s a 1990 bayliner Capri with 120 force where can I get service manual at?
Why stay away from calumet what’s a good one to look for? Yes when I lower it it stalls or just does not start and smell of fuelEBAY is the place I look for service manuals, stay away from Clymer and Seloc manuals.(unless they're free)
Little more info? once it starts, when you lower it does it stall, how fast?
So do you just tilt it down little by little and then Try when I have it down it smells as if it is floodedHave you tried watching your safety/kill switch on your throttle cable as you lower the motor? Some binding occuring when it lowers could be causing the switch to open, which is fine in a raised position. I don't have this problem, but mine does have to be in 'just' the right sweet spot to start, and it ain't in the center position exactly...
