Re: 120 force help fast(please)

Hi, Bob.
If the rest of the plugs are not dry,and that one plug was, I would not think delivery is the problem.
More likely, it's low compression on that cylinder. Is it the bottom pug?
If so, it might be the head gasket.

Just got to thinkin..Didn't you recently pull the head? If so, re-tourque the bolts.
It may "cure" the problem if it is low compression.

Reeds? a possability. But if so, you would hear a pulsing hiss out of the carb (kinda like a 4barrel qaudrojet carb on a car without an air filter on).
You might try opening the idle screw a quarter turn on the lower carb, and see if it improves.

consider it a blessing to get rid of it! The force 120 has been a problem for me for the past 5 years!

Re: 120 force help fast(please)

I have a 1990, 120hp Force and it has been a pain in the butt since new. It will run good for a while, then one problem after another. Latest is fuel pump. I have had overheating, water pumps, ignition, coils and other problems. Wish I would have paid an extra $2,000 and got a Mercery.

Re: 120 force help fast(please)

tell u what if ypu rebuild and do it just right your motor has to do you right the 120 has 33 ft lbs on the connecting rods and 20 ft lbs. on the head all others around 20 and those ones that dont thread try cleaning them your piston rings have dots on one side and they all face to the top of the motor the rings are concave on top and flat on the bottoms use alot of white lithium engine rebuild grease your connecting rod caps have to go on the way they came off or they wont tighten right and beleive it or not they should slide to the left and right but not up and down well compression should be between 160 and 170 any thing over or under that is not good i could go on all night hope this helps
