120 Force Stator Problem

I have a 1992 120 Force. I had to have the Stator replaced in 1993 while the unit was covered by the origional dealer. Now I have to replace it again in 2005. Is it common for stators to need replaced or is this normal to have to replace it again in 12 years. I have not had any other problems with the motor.

Nothing is normal with a Force motor <br /><br />They seem to be plagued with electrical "issues".

I found out that I had one of the old black stators that was know to have problems. I now have one of the new red on and it works fine.

Johnmd, I also have a 1992 120 Force and have had stator problems. I'm trying to find out what the part number is on the high voltage adaptor for the red stator kit. Do you know what the part number is? It should be something like 834949A4.

go to maxrules.com he has all the part numbers online for these. if you just want a new stator, i found some fairly cheap online at tenkillermarine.com
