120 loopers

What would the years and or models for the 120 loopers that would be most desireable in terms of performance and other features. Have read a little here about big bores and V6 gear cases but with the search being down I'm not having much luck on the research.<br />Thanks,<br />Mike

Describe what you mean by performance. If youre talking about a motor for the 16' in your link, the V4 90* looper might be a tad heavy.<br /><br />Is that the boat we're going to put it on?

Thanks DH , No not for the 16 footer. I don't think it would like another 100lbs. hanging back there. Looking around for something a skosh bigger in a boat and just trying to learn some options. I'm a glutten for punishment and the backyard is empty,so another little project may be on the horizon. For lack of a better term, performance is what came to mind. I guess what I'm asking is for is a generalization of which motor that someone who knows what they are looking at might want. Probably getting ahead of myself though 'cause the crossflow still needs some attention. Revs are low (about 5100).

There are several configurations of the V4 looper. If we had a better idea of the type boat we could answer better. IE -- if we're looking at performance boats, that's one thing. If we're looking at longer heavier boats, thats another.
