can anyone give me some feedback on a 1990 maxum 2100 ldc cuddy with 120hp force i/o. I have never come across a force inboard outboard 2 stroke setup, I thought force only made outboards.i'm sure the boat is a good make, but the engine setup makes me nervous. Sorry, it is an "L" drive.

Ahh, an L drive.
Not a lot of these around. I am no expert but....
They tried to marry an outboard powerhead (with a few modifications) to a drive unit.
There are some problems that seem to pop up with them.
Drive issues, exhaust issues, powerhead issues, along with all the usual Force motor problems.
Hard to find parts. Incompatible with other drive systems.
If something serious brakes, its pretty much toast.
Remember, it will cost as much to fix one of these, as it does a newer motor and drive.

Hard to repower with another engine also, without major alteration to the boat and transom.

My opinion, steer clear.
Maybe someday when you are a multimillionaire, you can buy one as a novelty item.

Those puppies seems to float from home to home. They are famous for burning the exhaust hose and that requires pulling the engine to repair. Got one of those in town and for the last few years I see it pop up on different street corners with a for sale sign on the windshield. Funny, each time it has a different phone number.
