125 force fly wheele removal

Hi all. I need to get my fly wheel off of my 89 125force outboard. I tried the puller and had no
luck. I know there is some wiz's and pro's here that can help me with this little headache if you
Could please. Thanks a bunch.

I have read how to do it several times on here, don't know exactly what the procedures are myself. Search through the threads, I know Frank has a recent post with step by step instructions. Recent within the last week or two. Good luck! I know it involved a puller and a whack with a hammer. Eric

Hey thanks and I did read that thread. I was just wondering if there might be other ideas
because I didn't want to start wacking on anything just just yet. But thanks.

I know, makes me nervous because everything is so expensive (if not unavailable) when you put too much whack on it. I have heard heat (or bright hot sun) then a bag of ice. Don't know if that was a joke or not though. I have also heard consistent pressure and then walk away, tighten every couple of hours and "BAM" off it comes in the middle of the night. Good luck! Well we finally got that darn headache off there. What I did last night was spray a little pb
blaster around the top shaft and let it sit over night. Today we put a puller on there and put
As much pressure on that fly wheel as we could. Still couldn't get it to budg. Well while the
Pressure
Was still applied I decided to give the end of the bolt of the puller a good wack not really hard
Though and all of a sudden it popped straight up and out of seat. When that happened I just
about fell right off the side of the boat cause it scared me half to death and was unexpected lololololol!!! Well now I wait till Monday for my new trigger and hopefully all will be well after that.
