I notice that I get a decent amount of smoke with my Force 125HP. Is this normal? I'd say when I accellerate to WOT, I leave a cloud of blue smoke about the volume of a 15 passenger/cargo van. And there's always some smoke on the water even at idle.

Smoke residue is normal with any Force 2-stroke motor. Having said that, you can minimize the amount of smoke by making sure Carburetors are clean and properly adjusted and idle fuel mixture is set correctly. Also making sure the fuel recirculation system is working properly. Some folks also say the certain brands of 2-stoke oil are less smokey than others. I've experimented over the years to see if I could reduce the amount of smoke to what I perceive to be an acceptable level without much success.

Have you done spark plug inspections? If they are all black then it is time to clean them and also do some de-carboning of the engine.

If you idle a lot it's gonna smoke more.
Does it do it all the time or just when it's cold?
You mixing the right amount of oil in the gas?
1 pint to 6 gal????
Do a decarb.
Use Mercury's Powertune or OMC's Engine Tuner.
It will smoke more at idle.
