I recently bought a 16.5' Randall Craft bass boat with a force 125 engine(finally got my first boat
). The mechanic at the marina where I bought it had stated that they were not sure how long the boat had set up prior to them getting it. And suggested that I needed to change the water pump. Well we put it in the water and started the engine it run out great, no water pump problems at all. I had mentioned that the water pump seemed fine, and he explained that even through it was working at the present moment it still needed to be changed just in case. And he would be glad to bring it in the shop. Sounded like he was tryin to take me hook line and sinker. But after reading some of the post here he may not have been so dishonest after all. I have been working on cars and other various machinery for twenty years, so I am rather mechanincly inclined. My question where is the water pump located and does it require major engine disassembly( like lower end or cylinder head removal)?
