Re: 125 Force

The ones to avoid have Prestolite ignition. You can't get ignition parts anymore. That would cover all US Marine Forces and the earliest Merc Forces.

Re: 125 Force

I've got a Force 120, 1990 model, I've had to work on idle problems - carb adjustments, stator went out, headgasket blew, I heard they were prone to do that. Other than that, she is a good motor, I've always got an uneasy feeling though. Hoep this helps.

The one piece driveshafts corroded at the top and broke too. My 125 88 has had the driveshft break, stator go bad, one of the 2 powerpacks go bad, one coil.

Re: 125 Force

Don't be in too big of rush. A lot of those motors may have had all these problems fixed/upgraded. If ya find a deal, check the history if it has paper work. I like my old Force...!
