Re: 125 L Drive. THE Big ooopps. (long)

Well, The Exhaust manifold is giving me hell, Out of 25 bolts, three of them twisted the heads off the little pressure. I've got them soaking for now. I pulled the motor out and got a closer look at the cylinders. There's a crack in the #2 cylinder wall. I do'nt think thats where my water is coming from but, it's cracked. So, first thing's first. Where can I get another Power head? Replacing the power head with a reman is going to be the easiest and cheapest thing to do. Will a non L drive power head work? Who rebuilds these things, Thanks Michael

Well I called Iboats, Waiting on a call back. I told them that I needed a Force 125-L Drive. While I was waiting I call This place BlackBird Outboards He's got one ready to drop in and run for $2450.00. Exhaust manifold comes with it. Any Body ever hear or deal with this company. Good/Bad? Thanks Michael

Still cheaper than a jet drive.

#7! GOOD GOD! That was a long time ago!hehehe, Just kinding ;) . Mr Askew thank you for your responce. I'll will call you later today around 10 am or so. I'm realy looking for a replacement power head that's dependable and cheap (milk and cookies with a side of cake). This boat is realy a very nice hull. If only I could have found this site BEFORE I brunt my water pump up with the muffs would have been nice (The power of knowlegde,AND it's free). Thanks Michael Farmer

Its ALIVE!!!!!!! ITS ALIVE!!! Well, here is the ending to this story. I pulled the power head down. Found the spacer plate gasket had failed. Must have been from heat. I rebuilt this thing myself and did every thing that I could to make it right. We've had it out three time now and it runs great. The Jet Drive would'nt work on this hull. To much dead rise. With the 125HP Force running good for now. FOR SALE 18ft BAYLINER RUNS GOOD! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

For my L drive it was a standard bearing CA6207zz. I got mine from Norfolk Bearing in Norfolk,VA. The only thing they deal with is Bearings. It's NORFOLK BEARING & SUPPLY CO.,INC 3512 E. PRINCESS ANNE ROAD. NORFOLK,VA 23502. (757) 853-3691.
www.norfolkbearings.com

Hi, I would like to know more about this, because I bought a boat like this for 800 ( too Much). I didn’t know what I was dealing with. Well the people told me it was the head gasket. I took it off and water ran out of the 2 bottom cylinders.
I think it could be the same thing. I don’t understand your incident with the muffs, and where is spacer plate gasket located. How and where can I buy a need l drive or that jet engine? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
