I have a friend that owns a 1988 125hp Force outboard. Long story short a mechanic came out on the boat Wednesdat night and mentioned while on the water that he thought that a cylinder was missing. Upon returning to the launch we loaded the boat and pulled out of the way. The mechanic then took out all his test equipment and sure enough one to two cylinders where bad. My friend is going to have a different mechanic troubleshoot the motor tommorow, but I had noticed something that made me concerned. While the cover was off the outboard on Wednesday, I noticed that next to each spark plug in yellow crayon was written 110. I am under the impression that this was mark for the last compression test. The book mentions that the compression should be between 135 and 165 psi. Is this a major problem? The new mechanic is going to test this first tommorow. What is to low for compression on this outboard? The motor has one blue and one black power pack on it. Which of these would be newer? There are two blue and two black coils (not exactly sure if that is what they are called), again which would indicate the newer? Any help as to the reason why this one to two cylinders would be bad and what troubleshooting to complete to find out would be greatly appreciated for tommorow. Thank you

Ray
