I'm not familier with that brand, but I have two 12' flatbottom jon boats. The Lowe is rated for 3hp the Landua is rated for 5hp, and both are rate 2 persons or 350 lbs. I would think that would be in the ballpark.

Gins31,

I have a 12' sears, but with a V-hull. It is rated (nameplate) to have up to a 10 hp engine and 300# passanger load. I would guess yours would be ok with similiar hp engine. I personally have a Nissan 8hp on mine and it can plane easily with a full passenger load (usually 2 adults, 2 kids, and fishing gear) It also moves easily with a bow mounted minitonka electric w/35 # thrust.

Enjoy this fine fishing weather while we can !!

Ginns-

Fiberglass or aluminum? My father has a 12' fiberglass gamefisher and its rated to 10 HP. He runs the 10 no problem. I would not describe his as a John boat however, more of a semi-vee (perhaps like erie_guy's). If it is a flat bottom you won't want to go that high.
