Hey Gang,

I ran my boat the other day and when I got it in the water it has done this twice now.

1. I have to put it in neutral and throttle it to about 3000-4000 rpms to get the water into the engine so that the Tell-Tale will pee. If I don't do that the alarm sounds and I have to let it cool down and then it runs fine.

2. The second time I put it in the water and it didn't start peeing, until I put it in neutral and increased rpms and it started to pee and alarm went off. I reversed off dock and tried to take off and motor ran like crap. Turned off engine for 5 seconds re-started, it began to pee immeidateately and Got on plan quickly. Ran fine after that all day.

Oh yeah, I just recently had a mechanic put a new water pump and look at it in mid-December.

Any advice?

Was it doing this before the waterpump rebuild? If not, I'd be real suspicious of the rebuild.

c/6
Hooty

Also check the thermostats & pressure relief.

TX....seeing where you live, do you run salt water most of the time and do you flush after each use......the motor that is...with fresh water?

May also want to run a wire up the pee hole just in case it's got some plugage.

Hey, OBJ...
Did you make that word "plugage" up? I like it.

c/6
Hooty

Guys,

Yes, I run in salt water almost all the time and "Yes" I run fresh water after each use immediately. I'll have the t-stats checked and run a wire up the tell-tale. One other thing can you tell me if the engine being a Looper engine makes a difference.....

Thanks,

Tex

Maybe I'm missing something so I'll ask again. Was it doing this before you had the waterpump changed out or not?

c/6
Hooty
